Elle in the Library

We have a very special guess yesterday, by the name of Elle. Her owner and our good library assistant Correne, had a good ol' time. Elle is a four year old Yorkie and was the bell of the ball at our library yesterday. She loves her belly rubbed, and a good book any day.

It was a big surprise and quite fun to have her at the front desk helping out with our patrons. We hope to have her again soon.

In other news, we have received quite a few new books over the last couple of weeks, if you would like to see them just visit our Catalog and click on 'See What's Hot!'

Libraries and Librarians are as Vital as Oxygen

Hey there everyone reading the News & Reviews of the Marlin Public Library.

The title that you are viewing to this post is what one reviewer of this book, 'This Book is Long Overdue' said, by the name of Stan the Man. This book features the lives and the importance of libraries and the people that inhabit them. As a librarian myself, it's almost imperative that anyone that visits the library read this book. What people don't seem to realize is that libraries are the cutting edge of technology. We fight for your rights, and hope to provide everyone with the best of services.

So if there is one books any librarian could ever say to read, it is this one. It will be at our library in a month.

It's a Sad Day...

It truly is when you find out two very famous and very intriguing authors die in less then a week of each other. Robert B. Parker, the author of many famous New York Times Bestsellers died in his home last week of a heart attack at the age of 77. Here are a few of his books...

Then not even a week later, one of the most famous and reclusive authors dies at the age of 81, Mr. J. D. Salinger, the author of 'Catcher in the Rye'.

It's a sad day when great minds are lost.
