"Catch the Reading Express" Summer Reading Program

Well what a couple of weeks its been. There is a lot of exciting news going on at our library for these up coming summer months. This year we are very excited to be bringing to you a very <-special Summer Reading Program which will include a dog named 'Junior', the Marlin Fire Department, and maybe even an expedition to a Mammoth Cave. Yup you heard right, a Mammoth Cave. (This is still in the works.)

June 17th, Thursday
Children 2 - 8 from 11:00a.m. - 12:00p.m.
Children 9 - 12 from 1:30p.m. - 2:30p.m.


Scholastics Book Fair

July 13th - 23rd

Marlin Fire Department

August 12th, Thursday
Children ages 2 - 8 11:00a.m. - 12:00p.m.
Children ages 9 - 12 1:30p.m. - 2:30p.m.

'Catch the Reading Express" Book Reading Day, every Tuesday from 2 - 3 p.m. from June 1st - August 17th.

Final Repairs

Well, this is the last repairs we will be doing to this blogger for a while. It took us a while to get the last little glitches out and thanks to a lot of patrons and volunteers they thought this looked better then the one provided before. We hope you enjoy the new feel and easier to read blogger of our news and reviews. We also think one of our Friends for providing us with the new logo shown above.

More things will be up and running within the week as these changes are reviewed and revised to fit this new look. We will keep you advised.

New Books

The Marlin Public Library has just put in a large amount of news book, and not just that. There are several books that have been provided that aren't even supposed to be seen by the public for another three months. (Don't ask me how they do it.) Some include, Linger the second in a series by YA writer Maggie Stiefvater, and several others.


Silver Borne (Mercy Thompson, Book 5)Also the completely series Mercedes Thompson by Patricia Briggs is now complete at the library, with her latest book shown here, Silver Borne, which came out earlier this month. 




 
A Nest for Celeste: A Story About Art, Inspiration, and the Meaning of HomeThere will also be a lot of new books for Junior sections as well, which including a beautiful story by Henry Cole, named A Nest for Celeste, for young tweens just getting into long chapter books, with full page illustrations much like his first book The Invention of Hugo Cabret.
